EX CORDE is a group of professional singers who are alumni from the University of York, founded by Paul Gameson in 2020.
We use vocal music to create, collaborate and connect, bringing composers, performers and audiences together. We passionately believe in making choral music - both old and new - accessible, through innovative programming and imaginative performances.
Our debut album APOCALYPSE is to be released on Resonus Music in August 2023. APOCALYPSE features choral music by David Lancaster, with the title track and At the Edge of the World inspired by the stained glass and history of the medieval gem at the heart of York, All Saints' Church, North Street.
Our ongoing collaborations include working with composers Christopher Fox and Ambrose Field, Chelys Consort of Viols, and AudiLab at the University of York. We have performed at the Beverley Early Music Festival, have contributed to BBC Radio 3's Choral Evensong and Early Music Show.
